“ Bang for your buck- get the 4 scoop sampler. Full scoops and no worries if you don't love all your flavor picks. One scoop is already 5.95 so why not. Graham cracker is delicious. The March flavor green monster was perfection. Good quality ice cream that if you take a family out... won't break the bank. No indoor seating but plenty of chairs and tables outside. Even some "green" area For kids to play. Great service and don't be weary of the line; it moves quickly. ”
“ I can't recall the last time that I've been to an ice cream shop and dreamed about going back for an entire week! I brought my brother back the following week to snag a pint of the strawberry shortcake chunk (dangerously addicting), a hot fudge brownie sundae, and a couple scoops of PB chocolate & coffee on an ice cream cone. Man, they do not skimp here, which let's face it is rare in today's insane economy. I'd happily go back any day for the hot fudge brownie sundae. The people behind me in line were salivating when they saw it handed to me LOL. Go treat yoself. I prefer this place to Cold Stone or Baskin Robins. ”
“ Came here for the OC Restaurant Week deal. It's buy one, get one free on any item and you can have different flavors! They were packed but the staff handled it pretty well. They have an extensive menu so be prepared to make some tough choices. We ordered a pint of caramel pretzel and a pint of smores. Caramel Pretzel- The caramel ice cream base was rice and flavorful with a hint of sea salt at the end. Pieces of chocolate covered pretzels are mixed in. It was so fun to bite into these and get an explosion of chocolate and crunch! Smores- The graham cracker ice cream base was smooth and creamy. You get marshmallow swirls that are gooey and sweet. You also get chocolate bits that are tie the flavors together. You can really taste the smores in ice cream form! Great place to get ice cream! ”
“ For visit on Wednesday night of 3/5/25. We had had dinner at a nearby restaurant participating in OC Restaurant Week and planned to visit Handel's Ice Cream afterwards because it was also part of OC Restaurant Week. They had a BOGO on all their products. We had wanted to get 2 pints and had picked out our flavors after looking at the website. Even though it was raining, there were people at the ice cream shop and a line formed behind us while we waited to be served after the people ahead of us. The couple behind us perused the board trying to decide on items before getting into line. Instead of Black Cherry, we got Cherry Magnolia which had brownie pieces and chocolate chips. There was no Peanut Butter & Jelly and older daughter asked for a recommendation for a strawberry ice cream not wanting to hold up the line. The young lady knew her menu and gave her Strawberry Cheesecake Chunk. Younger daughter wanted a waffle cone only. Older daughter who was at the cash register paying for the purchase was happy that the young lady helping her also offered her a waffle cone. They really honored the buy a cone get a free cone. A group was enjoying their visit to the ice cream store despite the Photo Booth being out of service. There is a backdrop to take a photo. I haven't been able to hide the ice cream. Every time I take out the pints to have dessert, the whole family gathers to get a spoonful. I like the swirl of strawberry in the strawberry cheesecake chunk and the family really likes the black cherries and brownie pieces in the cherry magnolia. ”
“ Love your Monster Shake! Ice cream, sirbets, custom concoctions, what more could you want. Great service and staff. ”
“ I love this ice cream place for the large variety of flavors, there is something for everyone! It's located in the marketplace and surrounded by other casual restaurants, making it the perfect spot for a post meal sweet treat. The 4 scoop sampler is perfect for when you're indecisive or want to try many things. If you like more decadent flavors, I would recommend the mud pie, rocky mocha blast, or blueberry cobbler. For a more refreshing treat, the mango sorbet, taro/ube, and orange dream cream are my favorites! The line can get long, but service is efficient and it moves quickly. We also went during OC Restaurant week, so everything was bogo! ”
“ Best ice cream ever. The line was super long out the door, waited maybe 20-25 minutes but it was worth it. Got to try some samples, it was hard to decide. I got the sampler which came with 4 scoops! Quality of the ice cream was amazing and with the money. ”
“ In dire need of relieving a sweet tooth? Handel's got you. Their ice cream is incredibly creamy, full of flavor, and made fresh daily! There's an overwhelmingly amount of flavors to suite anyone's palette. Ask for samples to narrow down your choices. The customer service is friendly and will happily serve you. I got the medium size ($6.95) that gives you ~ 3 scoops with a choice of up to two flavors. Highly recommend getting the taro and chocoholic chunk (dark chocolate). No seating inside, so you'll have to enjoy your ice cream outside. No worries, there's abundant seating outside the store. Pro tip: Get a pint for $8.95 or 4 pints for $34.30 Pro tip 2: Order pickup to avoid the long lines ”
“ I'm a huge fan of their blueberry cobbler, but decided to get their sampler to try the new seasonal flavors: deep dish apple pie and pumpkin pie! Both were soooo good! Also tried orange dream cream (which was spot on like a creamsicle!) and their classic mint chocolate chip (not a fan of the giant chunks of chocolate but it was still delicious). Glad to have a better memory supercede the previous sampler box of vegan flavors. The vanilla tasted like chalk and just turned us off for a while. The only thing good was their mango sorbet. ”
“ Wow! Had no idea they opened a Handel's ice cream here! Now I can get poke and dessert! Very clean and spacious location. No indoor seating but there is a Photo Booth. Really fast service as well. So many flavors to choose from. I do have to say though the Newport location gives bigger scoops I think. ”
